The Iberostar Resort complex in Playa del Carmen has two sections: the Iberostar Tucan and the Iberostar Quetzal. These two all-inclusive resorts are located across from the island of Cozumel, directly on the beach amid 28 acres of lush tropical jungle and right next to an 18-hole golf course. Bungalow-style buildings are surrounded by natural, tropical vegetation that is home to flamingos, monkeys and exotic birds. 30 minutes from Cancun International Airport, 40 minutes to Cancun, 5 minutes to Playa del Carmen. Activities center on the four pools that take up the central part of the hotel, and the complex holds plenty of palapa shade huts both here and on the beach to keep guests from frying to a crisp.
