The Iberostar Costa Dorada is located directly opposite the beach of Playa Dorada. Set in the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, the hotel is only 10 miles (30 minutes from the airport and just five minutes away from the bustling city of Puerto Plata.

An elegant resort with Colonial-style architecture, the Iberostar Costa Dorada gets wonderful reviews. Offering comprehensive family friendly activities, this resort enjoys a great location on a lovely stretch of beach with calm waters perfect for swimming. All meals, drinks, entertainment shows on-property, and most activities are included. 516 elegantly furnished rooms and 18 Junior Suites, in nine three-story buildings, surrounded by natural gardens and exuberant tropical vegetation, typical for this area. Rooms are cool and airy, with tile work floors, earth tones, brightly colored upholsteries, wall weavings inspired by Taino designs, and big windows. Open plan lobby with seating areas and bar, main restaurant for buffets, three specialties restaurants with menu style dining are also included, as well as four bars & a snack bar.

Guests will enjoy the large swimming pool with separate children's pool, in extensive tropical gardens. All rooms have either two twin beds or one king size bed, featuring private bath and shower, air conditioning, ceiling fan, telephone, cable TV, mini-bar and either a balcony or terrace, mineral water, soft drinks and beer from the mini-bar, are included.

Safety deposit box hire approx. US$ 2,- per day. Guests can also enjoy music and dancing in the nightclub, as well as the variety of entertainment offered during the day and evening. Lucy's Mini Club for children between the ages 4 to 12 from 10:15 am and 05:00 pm represents a great option, and baby sitting outside of these hours is also available at an extra cost - as well as the beauty salon/hairdresser, doctor on call, currency exchange, high speed Internet, laundry service, and so on. All meals, snacks and drinks in five restaurants (one buffet with show cooking in the evening and three a la carte specialty restaurants); a pool/beach snack bar; and four bars serving international drinks. No alcoholic drinks will be served from 02:00 to 09:00 hrs. The hotel offers a disco, a sports and fitness program - including aerobics, waterpolo, table tennis, archery, tennis courts (extra charge for night play), fitness room, and watersports including windsurfers, kayaks and sailing (one hour per person per day, reservations required). Other services and facilities available at the hotel include reception area with currency exchange, shops, boutiques and a supermarket.

The resort offers a variety of entertainment and activities including sports, games and Merengue lessons. Guests can take part in aerobics, water polo, archery and 1 hour of tennis court usage per person per day. Windsurfing, sailing and kayaking are also very popular. The resort includes a CDC PADI Gold Palm Resort Dive Center, which offers various diving courses from beginner to instructor levels. In the evening, there are a host of shows, dance performances and live music.

The complete Spa offers guests the chance to indulge in a variety of massages and beauty treatments for both the face and body. "El Spa" has a Turkish bath and also offers a hair stylist and manicure and pedicure services.

The Lobby Bar seems to invite one to spend long hours chatting with friends, and the atmosphere in the small square is incredible. For the inexhaustible, the Road 66 discotheque is the place to be. The hotel has a SPA center with fitness-room and sauna.
